In 1980, guitarist Jan Kuehnemund formed a rock band called Vixen in her homestate
of Minnesota. She moved to Los Angeles and reformed the band with the line-up of lead
singer Janet Gardner, bass player Share Ross, and drummer Roxy Petrucci. Metal was a
man’s world and gaining respect proved to be a head banging experience. But lady lucky
was on their side, and the band’s first album went gold in 1989. Vixen rocked the radio
waves with power ballads and a glossy hair band image.

It seemed as though there was no stopping this metal machine, but creative differences
soon exploded into full blown clashes, destroying the band. When the band cut their
second album Rev It Up, the women splintered into opposing camps and battle lines
were drawn. In 1991, the queens of rock ended their reign.

The animosity rose to a new level when in 1998 Janet and Roxy tried to reform the
band, and Jan sued them for copyright infringement. After such a rocky past, can
we convince the members of Vixen to come together for one last performance?
